Amy Lyn Johnson – Staff Accountant/Co-Office Manager  

Amy began her accounting career with Zehnder & Associates in August 2003.  She is a 2001 Graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. In addition to her degree from Michigan State University Amy has taken additional accounting coursework at Saginaw Valley State University. Currently Amy is a CPA candidate and a member of the AICPA. Duties she performs for the firm include but are not limited to payroll services, compilations, reviews, individual and business tax preparation along with client service matters.

Interests outside of the office include many outdoor activities, such as walking, skiing, golfing, camping and enjoying her family .

Tanya Lenhard – Staff Accountant  

Tanya began her employment with Zehnder & Associates in 2000. She also possesses previous employment experience performing audits. As a 1999 graduate of Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy, Tanya has the credentials to accomplish her office responsibilities of preparing financial statements, payroll processing, tax preparation and performing monthly accounting activities.

Tanya's hobbies include scrap booking, gardening and camping with her family. She is an active member of the Frankenmuth Jaycees. Tanya believes in giving back to her community.

Paul Weiss – Staff Accountant  

In 1985 Paul graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors of Art degree in Accounting. He began his career at a regional public accounting firm Crowe Chizek and Company in South Bend, Indiana. He passed his CPA exam on his first attempt. In 1989 he began his career at Pameco Corporation (a publicly traded national company with over $400 million in revenues). During his time at Pameco, he held the positions of Internal controller, Financial Reporting and Tax Manager, Southern Division controller and Corporate Operations Controller. In 1997 he retired to live on the family farm with his father. Since then he has began a tree and produce farm and participates in the Frankenmuth Farmers Market.

At Zehnder & Associates, Paul works during tax season to assist with corporate, partnership and individual tax return preparation.

Mary Weiss – Receptionist/Administrative Assistant  

Mary has been a part of the Zehnder & Associates team since December 1976 when it was formerly known as Laine, Appold & Co. Mary holds an Associates Degree in Secretarial Science from Delta College. The title of receptionist is only part of the many tasks that Mary carries out for the firm. She also prepares payroll, performs bookkeeping responsibilities and processes returns.

An active member of the St. Lorenz Lutheran Church Mary devotes much of her off time volunteering for the church. She is a member of the St. Lorenz Youth Committee, the St. Lorenz Finance Committee and a past member of the St. Lorenz Choir. Outside of her church, Mary also enjoys gardening, kickboxing, watching children's sports and activities.

 

Debra McElgunn – Client Services  

Debra has been apart of the Zehnder team since 1988 and possesses an Associates Degree in Accountancy from Mott Community College. Debra specializes in Creative Solutions & QuickBooks. Debra's responsibilities include preparing financial statements, payroll processing, tax preparation and performing monthy accounting.

Nila Schiefer – Client Services  

Nila has five years of employment with Zehnder & Associates. Nila’s extensive office managerial skills allow her to perform many job specialties including payroll preparation, payroll tax returns, processing client information, posting receipts and various other tasks associated with a busy CPA firm.

In her time outside of the office, Nila enjoys spending time with her family, visiting her vacation home and traveling.

 

Mary Larges – Client Services/Co-Office Manager  

Mary possesses over 40 years of experience within the accounting profession. Preparation of payroll tax, monthly accounting, assisting clients with software and tax return preparation for small business clients are just a few of the many tasks that Mary performs for Zehnder & Associates.

Actively volunteering at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and enjoying her four grandchildren is how Mary enjoys her time away from the office.
